How are the Shows Promoted?
RSP has developed an effective and comprehensive strategy for promoting home shows. The advertising schedule begins a minimum of two weeks prior to the opening date. When outdoor advertising is used, it starts a month before. Monthly magazines generally have teaser ads placed two to three months ahead. The website is up and running all year long with a sponsored link on Google. Consumers can access show information 24/7.

RSP uses the region’s major daily and weekly newspapers and monthly magazines. Window posters, discount tickets, and show passes are offered to exhibitors for distribution. Hundreds of .60 spots are purchased on the major radio stations with multiple live-remotes from the show also used to reach the region’s listening audience.

In addition to radio, RSP buys hundreds of spots from the most popular television network and cable systems. Most shows feature well known television personalities hired by RSP to appear there. Norm Abrams, Tom Silva, and Kevin O’Connor of “This Old House,” Michel Payne of “Designing for the Sexes,” and Brian Santos “The Wall Wizard” are among the remodeling world’s celebrities who have helped promote interest and attract enthusiastic attendees to past home shows.
